CAGAYAN de Oro City–A youth leader and Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin Uy yesterday urged local residents to help the government fight the spread of deadly Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) by strictly following the basic health protocols set forth by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Covid-19.
Councilor John Michael Seno, chair of the committee on sports and youth development, appealed to the youth sectors to rather join the government in its fight against the spread of Covid-19 than misbehave.
Seno reiterated the saying that the youth is the hope of the fatherland and that dispite the difficulty the local government is doing its best to help the youth especially those who belong to the Out of School Youth (OSY).
During the Yes Tech IT Solutions Youtube channel, Seno urged the youth to avail of the free education offered by the city government.
“Ako nanghinaut nga magpadayon sa pagtamod ang tanan sa mga palisiya nga gisitar sa IATF ug ihatag ang dakong pagsalig sa kagamhanan kay dili lang sa pagproteher sa kaugalingon ug sa pamilya ang gikinahanglan kun dili sa tibuok komunidad alang sa kalamboan sa tanan,” said Seno
Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Uy expressed optimism that the fight against the spread of Covid-19 defend on everyone else active participaation.
Earlier, Cagayan de Oro Mayor Oscar Moreno signed Executive Orders declaring “focused containment” or quarantine of four areas in teh city due to the local trsnamission of Covid.
Uy said that despite Cagayan de Oro City is classified as low risk area “we should not be confident.”
The areas declared under quarantine include NHA Phase 1, Gona, Kauswagan; San Juan Tabaco, District 1, Puntod; portion of Phase 2, Zone 9, Carmen; portion of Zone 6, Gawad Kalinga Relocation, Sitio Gemilina, Bugo; portion of Zone 3, Bayabas; Cluster Bayanihan of Purok 3, Gusa; Talidhay, portion of Zone 2, Cugman; Zone 1, CELRAI, District 7, Puntod; portion of Barra proper, Macabalan, and portion of Purok 4A, Gusa.
Uy explained the purpose of implementing localized quarantine is to help fight the spread of Covid and to prevent outsiders from frequenting the areas.
Uy said: “Mabuntog nato kini nga pandemya pinaagi sa pagsinabtanay, panaghiusa ug pagtambayayong aron dili masayang ang sakripisyo sa atong mga frontliners.
