CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Colonel Aaron Mandia, the city police director, has condemned to the highest level the killing of a delivery rider, a resident of Western Kolambog in Barangay Lapasan, this city, along with his girlfriend, who was allegedly raped.
Mandia said the incident occurred at a portion of the coastal road in San Roque, Lapasan at around 1:30 a.m. of July 17, 2022, following a concerned citizen’s report to the police.
He said responding police officers found the victim already dead.
“That upon arrival thereat victim was found lying on the ground bathing with his own blood.
Responding elements identified the victim as certain Cris Sabaldana Semaña, 24 years old, male, single, delivery rider and a resident of Western Kolambog Lapasan CDOC,” Mandia said.
It was learned by the team that the victim has a companion, a 17-year-old female, believed to be the rider’s girlfriend, he added.
Mandia said the rider and the female were lovers and that prior to the incident, they were talking in a secluded area of the coastal road.
While they were talking, two males approached them and poked a knife at them. The two suspects have companions who acted as lookout, Mandia said.
He said the victims were dragged and brought to the grassy, dark part of the coastal road, there and then the suspects declared robbery/hold-up using a knife.
“In that instance, the female minor victim was forced to strip off her short pants and allegedly raped by one of the suspects. Said victim resisted, but she was punched and kicked by the suspect,” Mandia said.
The male victim was immediately brought to the JR Borja Hospital by Oro Rescue but was pronounced DOA by the attending physician Dr. Keneth M. Robenta.
The male victim sustained 10 stabbed wounds on different parts of his body while the female minor victim was referred to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center for medical examination, Mandia said.
The immediate family of male victim was advised by the physician to get autopsy report from medico legal.
