CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The regional office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-10) gave orientation on December 23, 2022 to the displaced drivers in Northern Mindanao due to the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP).

The said orientation focused more on the drivers, being the first batch of beneficiaries of the “EnTsuperneur Program” Kabuhayan Package, aimed at giving them alternative income.

What is Entsuperneur Program?

Entsuperneur Program is a joint project of DOTr and DOLE which aims to provide alternative sources of income for public transport drivers and operators affected by the PUVMP and the result of the local public transport route planning (LPTRP) and the route rationalization study. It essentially provides beneficiaries with working capital in the form of tools, equipment, and raw materials as well as basic training in business planning, entrepreneurship development, book keeping, and values formation.

During the orientation program, a cheque amounting to Nine Million Pesos (P9-M), was also turned over to Northern Mindanao Federation of Transport Cooperatives (NOMFED) represented by its manager Luzviminda Escobidal. NOMFED was tapped by LTFRB X and DOLE X to become the agencies’ co-partner in purchasing and distributing the ‘kabuhayan packages’ to 339 beneficiaries of the program.

It was learned that before the end of the year or in the first week of January 2023, the LTFRB X and DOLE X, thru NOMFED, will start distributing the kabuhayan packages to the beneficiaries.

Present during the event were Cagayan de Oro City Councilor, Ms. Girlie Balaba, LTFRB X director, Regional Director Aminoden D. Guro, DOLE X TSSD Chief, Mr. Atheneus A Vasallo, DOLE X TSSD Senior LEO, Mr. Charltom James Busa, LTFRB Financial Analyst II, Ms. Marianne Ulep, representatives from Office of the Transport Cooperatives (OTC) X, representatives from PUVMP X, and some of the 339 drivers and operators, who are beneficiaries of the program.
