MISAMIS ORIENTAL – Governor Peter “Sr. Pedro” M. Unabia, along with 2nd District Representative Congressman Rufus B. Rodriquez, NEDA 10 Regional Director Mylah Faye B. Casiño and other key persons comprised of the Regional Development Council (RDC) of Northern Mindanao, recently conducted a fruitful visit to Malaysia in a strategic move to enhance collaboration and growth in the region. The visit was part of the council’s Special Regional Development Committee Meeting and aimed at fostering ties with key stakeholders in Malaysia.
During the visit, the council actively engaged in productive discussions with prominent Malaysian officials, business leaders, including Hon. Dato’ TPr. Fadlun bin Mak Ujud, President of Perbadanan Putrajaya (Putrajaya Corporation), and representatives from various sectors. These meetings facilitated a valuable exchange of ideas and best practices, setting the stage for potential collaborations.
The focus of the dialogues centered on the development of public infrastructure projects and a mass transit system. These initiatives align with the ongoing implementation of the country’s Build, Better, More Program, promising significant benefits for trade, investment, and tourism in the Northern Mindanao region.
Environmental conservation, the creation of high-quality and resilient jobs, and the establishment of safer and more accessible infrastructure were key topics during the discussions. The council’s commitment to regional development and international cooperation was evident throughout the visit.
The successful trip to Malaysia marks a crucial milestone in the council’s pursuit of positioning Northern Mindanao as a key player in the global landscape. The partnerships forged during this visit are expected to contribute not only to the province’s progress but also to the overall prosperity of the entire region.
