NICA, TESDA give displaced IPs food and clothing

SITIO BAYAWA, Malitbog Bukidnon – The NICA regional office 10 in partnership with Ms Wilma M Bathan of TESDA Central Office, in cooperation with Malitbog POlice Station, conducted a joint community outreach program on June 25, 2022, at Sitio Labtik, Barangay Sulo-o, Malitbog, Bukidnon.

The worthwhile activity purpusely aimed at reaching out to the so-called GIDAs communities, benefited 25 adults and their children, it was learned.

The beneficiries received four(4) half-sacks of rice, canned goods, slippers, clothes, noodle, eggs, biscuits and tobacco leaves.

Prior to the giving of support to these indigenous people, there were rituals conducted by the elders.

It was also learned that the beneficiries were displaced from their homes in sitio Bayawa, which an adjacent place of Barangay Labtik sometime in June 21 because of the reported threats from the communist rebels belonging to the 4A NCMRC.

The activity was ably supported by tribal leaders from the Higaonon Tribal leaders Daniel Bactalan Lumihay, Aka “Datu Maabtik” Ben B Lumihay aka “Datu Manhapsayan” and Tata L Sawitan “Bae Manhigpitan” and about 25 adults and children inside their residences. (JCE)
