CAGAYAN de Oro City–The operation of another major telecommunication company in Cagayan de Oro is in the offing.
Vertiv Philippines, Inc. informed Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy, through Councilor Teodulfo E. Lao, Jr., chair of the City Council committee on public utilities, of plans to construct an Edge Modular Data Center in the city for DITO Telecommunity Corporation.
DITO is the newest telecommunications provider in the country.
According to published reports, the consortium has committed to serve 37 percent of the population and provide a speed of up to 27 MBPS on its first year of operations.
The 3rd telco intends to begin its commercial launch by March 2021, The Gavel learned.
In his letter, Vertiv project director Selva Subramanlam said the company is seeking for the issuance of needed permits and clearances to build the data center and other related activities in the city.
Meanhile, Uy Thanked Rep. Klarex Uy of the first district of Cagayan de Oro City for donating a Smart LTE Pocket Wifi to the Misamis Oriental Gneral omprehensive High School (MOGCHS), senior high school; enior high of Tablon National High School; enior high of East Gusa National High School; senior high of Gusa National High School; and the senior high school of Lapasan National High School.
“Pinaagi sa maong lakang matabangan ang mga magtutudlo nga mapahigayon ang online classes ngadto sa ilang mga tinun-an alang sa dugang pagpasabot ug pagtudlo sa mga leksyon nga anaa sa gi-apod apod nga mga modules, pamahayag sa bise mayor,” said the vice mayor in a press statement. (SP)
