METRO MANILA – Yesterday’s result of the DNA examination on Jovelyn’s murder case was reliable, according to the National Bureau of Investigation.
The DNA examination was conducted by the forensic experts of the Philippine National Police,
Based on the result, there was a 99.99 percent match of the skeletal remains found on the bushes at sitio Pulang Lupa, barangay Tagburos in Puerto Princesa Palawan. The DNA examination confirmed that the skeletal remains was that of the late Jovelyn Galleno.
According to the NBI observation, the samples used by PNP’s forensic group passed through the National PNP experts. The NBI’s special investigator Cedric T Caabay, also says the results could not be manipulated. Although, many netizens are still doubting the DNA results as being allegedly manipulated.
But the NBI investigator during a TV segment of Senator Raffy Tulfo also claimed their office will have separate DNA testing as soon as experts from Metro Manila NBI headquarters come to Palawan for the same DNA testing and also do the parallel investigation.
On August 15, the NBI said, immediate families of the missing student Jovelyn Galleno went to the NBI office in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, and filed their official complaint.
The family reportedly doubted the investigation made by the PNP organization, saying there were lots of lapses on their investigation.
The mother has maintained her beliefs that Jovelyn is still alive based on some revelations she was seen riding on a Choco-gold private vehicle.
The 22-year-old Jovelyn Gallano went missing on August 5 several hours after she signed out from her work at a small clothing boutique inside Robinson’s Galleria in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
