The regional summit is part of the activities aligned to promote Duterte Legacy, a communication campaign that highlights the sacrifices of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and the successes of government projects and programs under his administration.
The three-day activity will gather media practitioners, information officers from different government agencies, student-leaders and youth members.
Andanar shared that on the first day, there would be plenary sessions with speakers experts in Communications and Media Industry. The second day will give out breakout sessions discussing important topics and trending issues affecting information practitioners such as Media Freedom, Freedom of Information, Task Force on Media Security and the passing of Media Practitioners Welfare Act.
He also mentioned that there would be youth-oriented activities during the summit such as Duterte Legacy youth camp. In here, different sessions will be held in an aim of improving leadership skills and instilling values and discipline among youth.
Moreover, during his recent visit in Iligan City, he shared that the most-anticipated Mindanao Media Hub having state-of-the-art media facility will be unveiled this June 2020 in Davao City and the Government Communications Academy will soon rise in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon offering vast subjects useful to aspiring media professionals and eventually open Masters in Communications.
