MAGUINDANAO – A joint operation conducted by the military and police authorities has resulted to the arrest of a most wanted person with string of murder cases, the military reported Saturday (May 22).
Colonel Pedro Balisi, Jr, commander of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade identified the suspect as Anayatin Duma, a resident of sitio Tangguapo, Barangay Damabalas, Datu Piang, this province.
Balisi said the arrested suspect is facing multiple murder docketed under criminal case number 2003-018 with no bailbond recommended.
The suspect did not resist arrest and peacefully submitted himself after the raiding team frisked and handcuffed him at his hideout in barangay Damabalas.
Investigation disclosed that after the militart confirmed the presence of the suspect in his hideout joint elements of the 6th Infantry Battalion, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (CIDG-BAR), and Datu Piang police, immediately conducted a lightning raid which resulted to the arrest of the suspect.
Based on records, Duma was listed as one of the most wanted persons in the province. He was linked to local terrorist groups, and has a reward on his head according to the Department of National Defense and Department of the Interior and Local Government.
Meanwhile, Major General Juvymax R. Uy, commander of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division told reporters that Duma’s arrest would help weaken the threats of criminalities in the province. – PNA
