More Covid-19 cases traced in urban poor areas, ‘gated’ communities

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – A top-ranking official of the City Health Office, Dr Teodorico Yu said yesterday that “gated” communities and urban poor areas are now the targets of coronavirus disease 2019 attacks.

Dr Teodorico Yu, CHO’s Emergency Operations Center in-charge, said in a press briefing that the war against the deadly viruses is now transferred in the households.

Yu said the unseen enemy does not choose whether you are poor or rich.

“That’s why we keep on reminding to avoid (super-spreader) activities because this is critical, based on Octa Research where they said that by early October, cases will still increase. Hopefully in Cagayan de Oro, with the help of the people, we practice minimum public health standards to achieve downward trends,” the CHO officer said.

The CHO officer added that the CHO has recorded low cases of Covid-19 in three consecutive days, most particularly on September 12 to 14.
