MISAMIS Oriental–Provincial governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano was found negative of COVID-19 after undergoing RT-PCR swab test, Provincial Health Officer Jerie Calingasan said Thursday.
Emano and Calingasan were both found negative of COVID-19 after undergoing the RT-PCR swab test Wednesday.
Calingasan also denied reports that a provincial government employee was found positive of COVID-19 virus.
“The report that a provincial employee contracted COVID-19 along with a child was a fake news,” Calingasan said.
Calingasan, head of the provincial Inter-Agency Task Force Covid, said that Emano has also enjoined all provincial government employees to strictly observe the health protocols to prevent from being contracted with the COVID-19 virus.
Some of the most important protocols are: The wearing of face mask, social distancing, washing of hands with soup and cough etiquette.
As of Thursday, Misamis Oriental recorded a total of 64 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 60 of them were either returning overseas workers (ROF) and locally stranded individuals (LSI).
