MisOr adopts ‘no face shield,’ no entry policy

MISAMIS Oriental–Provincial Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano on Monday ordered the banning of all provincial employees from entering the provincial capitol building without “face shields.”

Emano issued the order as the Vice Mayor of Talisayan, a coastal town east of Misamis Oriental was found positive of COVID-19 after attending the wake of a friend who died of old age.

Talisayan Vice Mayor Joseph Epok said that the town folk has died of old age and not of COVID virus.

“I did not feel anything or have shown any symptoms and believed that my case is asymptomatic,” Epok told a reporter.

Emano said that the distributed “face shields” are provided free to all provincial workers as part of the measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the workplace.

He said that he has instructed the provincial guards to prevent anyone who is wearing “face shields” from entering the premises or reporting to their provincial offices.

Emano warned that he will take drastic actions, including the heads of the employees, who would defy his order.
