MisOcc officials seek public cooperation, discipline to lick COVID-19

Second District Representative and House Deputy Speaker Henry Oaminal is one with the provincial officials in asking Misamisnons’ cooperation, support and discipline against COVID-19.

The city and municipal officials have also shared their precautionary measures, assuring their constituents that they are closely monitoring this public health issue, and prioritizing the protection of the people in the province.

Oaminal assured his constituents in these trying times, saying, “We are here to serve you.”

“We must all face this health crisis in unity and with clarity of the understanding that each Misamisnons in our district is a valued member of our community; hence, all of us must do our role in protecting our fellow Misamisnons from the spread of this illness.”

He cited the problems and concerns regarding the health facilities and equipment when there are COVID-19 positive patients. “Our health care system in the district is being reinforced even though the isolation rooms and testing kits capacity for Misamis Occidental is very limited,” Oaminal said.

He announced that Ozamiz City would procure on emergency basis thermal scanner worth P1.5 million for Ozamiz City Airport.

The representative will also give P200,000 per local government unit (LGU) in the province for testing kits and other equipment.

He reiterated everyone must stay at home, and one of the most effective precautions is social distancing.

In the Province of Misamis Occidental, there are already four confirmed admitted patients and 20 persons in home quarantine with 627 PUMs as of March 16.
