MISAMIS Oriental–The province of Misamis Oriental remains COVID-19 free from the dreaded virus that went pandemic in March this year, Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano announced Thursday.
Emano cited the cooperation of the people of Misamis Oriental in implementation of the guidelines imposed by national Inter-Agency Task Force on the management of emerging infectious diseases.
“With the cooperation of the people, the province of Misamis Oriental remains COVID-19 free until today,” Emano said.
The governor also cited the provincial IATF headed by Dr. Jerie Calingasan for extending the necessary assistance to the returning OFWs and the LSIs.
He said that the province served and welcomed about 300 returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and locally stranded individuals from May 25 to May 31, 2020.
The strict monitoring and the appropriate medical services extended to the returning OFWs and LSIs also prevented the possible spread of the COVID-19 in Misamis Oriental, Emano said.
