CAGAYAN DE IRO CITY: A military commander reportedly drowned while on “scuba diving” training off the coast of Initao in Misamis Oriental, the police reported
Tuesday.Lt. Col. Michelle Olaivar, spokesperson of the regional police command here, identified the militaryIn officer as Col. Nolie L. Anquillano, 54, the deputy brigade commander of the army’s 103 IB, Campo Ranao in Marawi City.
Initial investigation isclosed that Anquillano was reportedly participating a scuba diving training in Tubigan, Initao. Misamis Oriental Saturday morning when he was reported missing.
Olaivar said that the dive master retrieved Anquillano’s body three hours later where he was immediately rushed to the municipal hospital for treatment.
According to Olaivar, the municipal health officer identified as Dr. Fajardo declared Anquillano dead a few minutes after admission.
Anquillano’s body was brought to Campo Ranao in Marawi City . -0-
