DATU BLAH SINSUAT, Maguindanao – The military in Datu Blah Sinsuat in this province has averted a planned roadside bombing, a day before the wedding of 2nd District Congressman Esmail “Toto” Mangudadatu.

This province’s 2nd district representative “Toto” Mangudadatu has tied the knot with the former Mutya ng Pilipinas – Miss Asia Pacific International 2018 Sharifa Akeel yesterday, August 25th at Al Nor Hotel and Convention Center in Cotabato City.

Police investigation disclosed that on Tuesday, a concerned citizen has tipped off the police regarding the presence of hand grenades at a road somewhere in Datu Blah Sinsuat.

Lt Col Paul Baldomar, Army’s 6th Infantry Division spokesperson said upon receiving the report, operatives were immediately dispatched to the area and safely deactivated three hand grenades planted at the coastal town highway.

“Fortunately, nobody was hurt in the attempt,” Baldomar said, adding the bomb experts were on time to avert possible explosion which may hurt many people passing the area onboard their vehicles.

Meanwhile, DBS Mayor Marshall Sinsuat confirmed that the military deactivated 3 fragmentation grenades beside the national highway in Barangay Pura around 2:00 pm last Tuesday.

“The police and military are still determining who could be behind the foiled grenade attack,” the mayor claimed.

The mayor was saddened by the said and appealed to the residents to remain calm and vigilant in helping authorities by reporting suspicious-looking individuals who may only want to disrupt the peace and order of the town and the province as a whole.

“We have a peaceful town, please help us maintain this,” the mayor concluded.
