GENERAL SANTOS CITY (MDN Mindanao News, June 21) –Â Supporters of embattled founder of Kapa Community International, Ptr Joel Apolinario, is now urging him to run for president in 2022.
If this will happen, Pastor Joel Apolinario will possibly face Sara Duterte, whom the administration is grooming and trying to campaign in social media.Â
But Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has earlier told reporters she has no plans of running for the top position, saying there is still much to be done being the mayor of the most progressive city in Mindanao.
Since President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the closure of Kapa all over the country, the president’s loyal supporters who are also members of the religious organization have lost confidence on Duterte’s administration.
Thousands of poor members of Kapa were members of the poorest of the poor and they have entrusted their support to Duterte as he reportedly promised to help improve their lives back in 2016 during campaign sorties.
The so-called 5 million strong members of Kabus Padatuon (Kapa)said in rallies they would remain loyal to the self-proclaimed pastor to the point of supporting him if he decides to run for president in 2022, and possibly to lead the country. Â
On June 20, Kapa members held rallies in different parts of the country renewing their continued support to Pastor Joel Apolinario, even as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has already filed cases against kapa for allegedly violating securities and other laws.
Kapa supporters claimed their rallies nationwide were now as big as compared to the rallies of Pres Duterte when he was still campaigning before the 2016 elections.
Below are some of the KAPA members who are suggesting that Apolinario could enter politics and become president, to prove he can help the poor as he did for five years now:
Meanwhile, the Kapa founder maintained that the ministry can sustain the operations as it already established lots of businesses all over Mindanao. The ministry, based on their Facebook pages have already put up gasoline stations, a hospital, fishing vessels, mining business, poultry farms, computer business, tarp printing business, convention center, ricefields, and all other businesses.
Below are some of the businesses reportedly established in 2018 and 2019.
