Mayor in Misamis Oriental tests positive of the deadly coronavirus disease

NAAWAN, Misamis Oriental, Philippines – The Municipal Health Office of Naawan town, this province, has confirmed to the media that acting Mayor Jaime Roa tested positive of the deadly coronavirus disease.

Dr Gwendelyn Labastilla, Naawan town’s municipal health officer said the mayor was taken swab samples right after three employees of the local government he has direct contact with already tested positive of the virus during a rapid testing. But said employees also tested negative on RT-PCR.

Labastilla said afer three employees were confirmed positive of the rapid antibody tests, the 80-year-old mayor voluntarily submitted to the swab tests, in which it turned out he was also positive.
