Man turns over unlicensed “Uzi machine gun” to authorities

MAGUINDANAO – In support to the recent call of a cop chief in the BARMM region, a man turned over his unlicensed “uzi machine gun” to local officials in Barangay Pagagawan, Datu Montawal town, this province  



Chairperson Abdullah Mangadad of Barangay Pagagawan in Datu Montawal town said a certain Dhatz Toto went to barangay hall and turned over his own “unlicensed firearm, an Uzi machine gun made overseas.



“He was carrying an Uzi machine pistol,” Mangadad told the PNA. “He politely handed over the gun with bullets to me,” Chairperson Abdullah Mangadad said.



The Barangay Official also turned over the said 9mm Uzi to Lt. Nurjhasier Sali, police chief of Datu Montawal town in Maguindanao.



“This is in support of the Police Regional Office–BARMM’s intensified and strict campaign against the proliferation of loose firearms,” Mangadad stressed.



Earlier, Brig. Gen. Eden T. Ugale, PRO-BARMM director, has called on citizens of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) to surrender their “loose firearm” or face the consequences of keeping them.



Ugale also appealed to local politicians in the BARMM region to support the campaign against “loose firearms to ensure a generally peaceful and orderly election in May 2022. – PNA
