Malacañang announces cash aid in ECQ areas including Cagayan de Oro

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced yesterday that those cities declared under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), the highest level of all covid-19 classifications, will receive cash aid from the National Government.

During the recent announcements of new classification levels, the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Gingoog were declared under ECQ quarantine levels due to the spike of covid-19 cases, as well as the discovery of Delta variant in these particular areas in Mindanao. Also classified under ECQ levels were the Province of Iloilo and its capital town Iloilo City.

Roque, however said as to the amount of how much each family will receive, this matter is still to be discussed by the concerned agencies. But in the past, those areas who were declared under ECQ classification like Metro Manila and NCR Plus, the families received P4000 to P8000 each depending on the number of beneficiaries in every family.

The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) has earlier reported that the covid cases in these four areas have increased tremendously, from June 1-15th. Goverment authorities have also identified Cagayan de oro City and Gingoog City in Misamis Oriental, as the latest areas in the country that the deadlier  Covid Delta variant were discovered. Based on reports from the national office of the Department of Health, 5 delta variant were found in Cagayan de Oro and 1 in Gingoog City.  

As of July 15, the recorded infections in the country has  already reached to over 1.49 million, with 26,314 fatalities. The recovery was also pegged at 1.42million.
