Earthquakes continue to jolt different areas in the Philippines and this phenomenon puzzled officials of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in the past month.
The officials could not ascertain to what caused the series of quakes felt in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
At around 10:48 this morning, a 5.4 magnitude quake was felt in Ilocos Norte but no damage to life and property has been reported yet as the government's local and national offices in Ilocos Norte were still accounting the extent of damage of the quake.
The quakes epicenter, according to Phivolcs was recorded west of Pagudpud town in Ilocos Norte and it happened around 10:48 this morning. A strong tremor also hit Pasuquin town and it registered a total of Intensity 5. Intensity 4 was also recorded by Phivolcs in Paoay, ILocos Norte.
Phivolcs warned that there might be aftershocks and everyone is cautioned to be watchful if any eventualities such as aftershocks happened in their areas.
