CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Top executives of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Regional Office 10 (LTFRB-10) graced the formal launching of 15 airconditioned public utility buses owned by RTMI, on Friday, held at the City Hall, this city. (May 7)
The Rural Transit Mindanao, Inc (RTMI) has recently secured a permit from LTFRB to operate buses plying the route of Cagayan de Oro to Cotabato City and vice versa.
The formal launching was graced by no less LTFRB Regional Director Aminoden Guro, City Mayor Oscar Moreno and executives and staff of RTMI.
The new bus route will take public commuters to Talakag in Bukidnon, towns of Wao (Lanao de Sur), Banisilan, Alamada, Libungan, Pigcawayan (all in Cotabato Province), Sultan Kudarat in Maguindanao Province and finally Cotabato City. The fare will be P541 for a travel time of 5-6 hours.
LTFRB Director Guro said prior to the aforesaid launching, the RTMI also paid courtesy visits to the officials of Local Government Units as well as to the public officers of various national government agencies, anent their operation on the aforementioned route. Among which, the RTMI paid courtesy call to former Mayor of Municipality of Amai Manabilang (formerly Bumbaran) and now Sultan of Lanao Mastura Manabilang.
Moreover, a courtesy visit was also made by RTMI to the Ministry of Transportation and Communication Minister Dickson Hermoso, BLTFRB Director Kaizer Nasilin, LTO Director Datunor Abutazil and some officers from BLTFRB, LTO, PPA, CAAP.
Meanwhile, a formal launching of these buses was also held in Cotabato City recently.
“Not just this provides jobs to transport drivers, it also gives inter-regional access to public commuters in Region 10, Region 12 and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. The opening of the new route and launching of PUBs will also contribute to the gradual recovery of economy in the region. As the general public complies with the minimum health standards, observes the 7 commandments when boarding Public Utility Vehicles, and follows the BIDA solusyon, this office is optimistic that we will eventually reccover from the adverse effect of this Covid-19 pandemic,” the LTFRB official concluded.
