JASAAN, Misamis Oriental (PIA)–With the implementation of the supplemental immunization campaign for measles, rubella, and polio in the town of Jasaan, the local chief executive pledged full support to the program of the health department, May 2.
“We are in strong support ani nga programa sa gobyerno na matagaan jud og dako nga pagtagad. Rest assured na ang LGU Jasaan will always give its 101% support to make sure na ang atoang mga bata magiging healthy,” Jasaan Mayor Redentor Jardin said.
(We are in strong support of this government program that will be given a lot of attention. Rest assured that LGU Jasaan will always give its 101% support to make sure that our children will be healthy)
Ensuring that the immunization program will be fully implemented in the town, the municipal health office set up fixed sites and house-to-house activities to conduct immunizations for measles, rubella, and polio in the different barangays.
“For the first two weeks, dapat makakuha ta ug 85% na target; third week, 95%; and hopefully, at the end of the month, we will reach 100% of the target,” Jasaan Municipal Health Officer Elijah Mateo said.

In addition to the scheduled immunization, the municipal health office has asked for the support of the community, including their respective barangay chairpersons, to make sure that all the 6,000 plus children aged 0–59 months will be immunized.
Mateo urges all Hasaanon parents to let their children be immunized and assures the public that the vaccines for measles, rubella, and polio are all safe, effective, and can be availed of free of charge. (JAKA/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
