Rodriguez and members of the Centrist Democratic Party of the Philippines (CDP) met with Vice-President Leni Robredo Wednesday to discuss urgent projects crucial to the future of Mindanao economic development.

Rodriguez was the original proponent of the project for Mindanao way back in 2008 and has been long-delayed already, denying the Mindanaons their rightful economic opportunities and inclusive growth.

The legislator also discussed the urgent rehabilitation of the Agus-Pulangi Power Complex to restore its power production to 100% of its rated capacity of 1,000 megawatts (MW) and substantially lower electricity prices in Mindanao.

The rehabilitation of the Agus-Pulangi Hydro Power plant will also extend the life of its facilities for another 30 years,  by more than half when fully operational, Rodriguez said.

“The restoration of the hydro power plant will certainly help in the recovery of small and medium scale enterprises hard hit by the effects of the pandemic,” Rodriguez sajd.
In their meeting,  Robredo committed to implement the projects for the development of Mindanao once elected President, Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez and the CDP Party endrosed Robredo’s candidacy. Rep. Juliette Uy (2nd District, Misamis Oriental) and Rep. Ma. Lourdes Acosta-Alba (1st District, Bukidnon joined Rodriguez in the meeting with Robredo. -0-
