Multi-awarded and veteran actor Eddie Garcia was rushed to the hospital Saturday after he reportedly collapsed while on taping of his upcoming TV series over GMA channel 7.
The 90-year-old actor, who is also considered a gem in the Philipine entertainment industry, is still accepting acting offers despite old age.
Director Armand Reyes in his Facebook account, he reposted: “Natumba siya kaninang umaga sa taping ng bagong teleseryeng ginagawa sa GMA-7,” says a repost rom Dave Rojo asking for prayers for the recovery of Eddie Garcia.
Garcia went into a coma, Director Armand Reyes said, adding that thw actor was immediately brought to the Mary Johnston Hospital in Tondo, Manila.
NOT IN COMA
Meanwhile, veteran actress Cecilia Rodriguez, who is Garcia's co-actor in the new GMA TV series, said the veteran actor is actually not in coma contrary to earlier entertainment media reports.
Rodriguez said those published in Facebook were all lies as the veteran actor was not in coma. She said Garcia had only a minor heart attack. Too much heat has caused the veteran actor to collapse while on taping.
As of press time, Garcia is set to be transferred at St Luke's Hospital as he was already revived and now resting. "Sobrang init lang daw sa taping kanina at nahilo nga kaya itinakbo sa isang clinic sa may Tondo,"
