Killers of Dr. Andutan arrested in Balingoan town

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Three of the four alleged killers of a hospital medical director in this city were arrested early dawn in Balingoan town, Misamis Oriental, police authorities reported.

Police precinct 9 Commander Major Allan Cayrel told the media the suspects were identified through the help of a CCTV footage which also matched the accounts of several witnesses, when the ambush-slaying of Dr Raul Winston Andutan took place in 29th street, Barangay Nazareth, this city.

A Rusi motorcycle, which was used by the suspects were positively identified through the CCTV camera that also led to the identification of the suspected killers of the Urologist doctor.

Police investigators identified those three arrested suspects as Jomar Adlao, 30, a resident of Dologon, Maramag, Bukidnon; Marjun Cabug, a resident of San Antonio, Don Carlos, Bukidnon; and Joel Nacua, 37, of Lilingayon, Valencia City, also in Bukidnon.

Initial investigation disclosed that the suspect, Joel Nacua, was the gunman who shot the victim in the fatal points which also caused his untimely demise.

The police precinct 9 commander disclosed that the three suspects have already admitted the crime and pointed to Nacua as the lone gunman while three others acted as look out.

The suspects, according to the police commander, pointed to a certain Renie Turtosa as the mastermind who reportedly paid them P150,000 for the assassination of the medical doctor.

It was also learned from the suspects that Dr Andutan was allegedly linked to a lot of women but they did not elaborate.

Meanwhile, the three suspects will be transported from Balingoan town to Cagayan de Oro by police operatives from Cocpo, and will be presented to the media.   
In an earlier interview with a local radio station here, Cagayan de Oro City Police Office spokesperson Major Ivan Viñas said the doctor had received threats even before he was ambushed.

It can be recalled that on December 1, Dr Andutan was onboard his grey colored Fortuner with plate number CAB 6998, on the corner of 12th-29th street in Nazareth, this city when he was waylaid by unidentified suspects on board a Rusi motorcycle, and without provocation, peppered with bullets using a ,45 caliber pistol.

Bystanders brought him to Maria Reyna-Xavier University Hospital, where he was the medical director of said hospital, but attending physicians declared him dead on arrival (DOA).
