CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao – The Joint Task Force Central and the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division won the first prize in the photography contest held during the 16th anniversary of the Western Mindanao Command on the 28th of August, 2022.
The said photo was taken by the 37th Infantry (Conqueror) Battalion regarding their medical and dental mission as part of their Civil-Military Operations (CMO) in a remote area of Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat.
It can be seen in the photo that despite the heavy rain, a female soldier who is a member of the Conqueror troopers still happily distributed relief goods to the residents of Sitio Pangyin in Barangay Hinalaan in the said province.
However, despite the heavy downpour, the indigenous residents of the area patiently queued.
According to the report, the said sitio was once infested by communist rebels but the government finally got it because of the presence of the army. The work of the rebel was finally stopped because of the outreach programs carried out by the various branches of the government.
Currently the 37IB is led by Lt. Col. John Paul D Baldomar. His battalion not only pursues the enemies but also accompanies the people in achieving peace and development in cooperation with each local government.
Major General Roy M Galido, the Commander of 6ID and JTF Central happily extended his congratulations to all the Campilan troopers especially to the members of 37IB regarding this victory. “It is a manifestation that our troops are doing well in their respective units, maybe with camera lights on or even without cameras, you can count on your soldiers at JTF Central to help even during calamities”, is part of the Division Commander’s statement.
