JobStreet records 387% increase job applications in recent Virtual Career Fair with DTI

With the recent success of its week-long Virtual Career Fair in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), leading online job portal JobStreet recorded a 387% increase in job applications from June 13-17 as the company continues to champion freedom and flexibility in finding jobs that fit the lifestyle and needs of every candidate.

Over 58,000 job applications were sent by nearly 89,000 participants during the said fair resulting in more than 420,000 platform visits the entire week.

The Virtual Career Fair offered thousands of opportunities nationwide with varying employment types and setups, such as work from home, hybrid, and entry-level jobs, and applicants were able to stream quality career webinars hosted by online learning platform LUNA Academy. The event culminated with a Facebook Live raffle event among registered jobseekers.

“JobStreet’s mission, on top of bringing hope and opportunities to as many job seekers as possible, is to empower the Filipino and to allow them to have the freedom and flexibility to choose the right virtual career path that fits their wants and needs,” said JobStreet Philippines Country Manager Philip Gioca.

“We are grateful for this partnership with DTI and we’ll definitely look forward to launching more initiatives like this towards strengthening our labor market.”

In the Philippines, over a million Filipinos are now enjoying homebased jobs as a result of many companies going to the country to hire qualified Job seekers. This also helps the Philippine Government in terms of job employment opportunities.

Although, the its very notable that still a lot of Filipinos looking for available jobs in call centers and non-voice jobs do not fit the qualifications, the government is doing its best to match job seekers with jobs they qualify, as well as trained those still unfit of the jobs through the help of TESDA.

Currently, JobStreet is offering more than 75,000 positions available nationwide in their platform. To explore more job opportunities that match your lifestyle and needs, visit jobstreet.com.ph.
