JIMENEZ, Misamis Occidental, Aug. 25 (PIA)—Jimenez town holds the inauguration and blessing of the new Ligtas COVID-19 facility with 35-bed capacity as part of its counter measures against COVID-19 at Barangay Gata, Jimenez.
The non-air conditioned accommodation has complete soft beds, pillows and blankets, personal kits, chairs and tables, and toiletries.
The facility was completed through the efforts of the Municipality of Jimenez and the Province of Misamis Occidental who worked together for the returning residents of Misamis Occidental.
“With this structure, the Bayanihan Grant amounting to P3,774,000 and supplemental budget, which is 20 percent of the development fund worth P590,000, a total of P4,364,000 was used for the infrastructure of the new LigtasCOVID-19 facility. Normally when we say isolation facility, it’s temporary, but we made it permanent, so the LGU can use it as an evacuation center if the pandemic ends,”said Mayor Rosario Balais.
For his part, Governor Philip Tan congratulated Jimenez LGU for their passion and dedication in serving the locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs).
“Your new isolation facility is indeed a work of love for your constituents,” Tan added.
The new Ligtas COVID-19 facility is expected to start its operation in August. (SMRN/PIA Misamis Occidental)
