It’s Rodriguez vs Dahino for Oro’s Vice mayoralty post

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Two women leaders of this city will battle it out for the lone vice mayoralty post come May 2022 elections.

This, as City Councilor Edna Dahino formally filed her candidacy today for the vice mayoralty post against incumbent City Councilor Jocelyn “Bebot” Rodriguez.

Bebot Rodriguez, younger sister of Deputy Speaker of the House, Rufus Rodriguez, was earlier proclaimed as the official candidate of Padayon Pilipino-Centrist Democracy Party local coalition.

“Earlier today, I filed my Certificate of Candidacy to run for Vice Mayor in my beloved Cagayan de Oro City, alongside my running mate our future Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy. As a councilor for the 1st District, I have passed many ordinances and worked hard on platforms for women empowerment, protection of our children, strengthening families, preserving our environment, among other ordinance and resolutions that are inclusive for all Kagay-anons,” she stressed.

Dahino said she wants to serve the City more although she had been giving her genuine service to city residents while in her years as City Councilor of the city.

“But, I want more, I want to serve you more and do more in the name of public service. I am asking for your prayers and support as I journey towards being your Vice Mayor,” the city councilor pointed out.

Dahino championed her causes on many legislations she filed which benefited many underprivileged sectors in the city, including women empowerment and the protection of children’s rights and privileges.

Rodriguez, on the other hand, has also passed legislation protecting the rights of people under mental retardation, and many other causes benefiting the city residents.
