CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (MDN digital, May 9) Now, it's Councilor Nadya Emano against Rainier "Kikang" Uy for vice-mayoralty post during the conduct of the 2019 local and national elections in this city on Monday, May 13,2019.
During a press conference this morning (May 9) spearheaded by top leaders of Padayon Pilipino in coalition with CDP of 2nd District congressional candidate Rufus Rodriguez, Padayon titular head and incumbent Governor Vincente "Bambi" Emano speaking in behalf of the family, has confirmed the candidacy of his sister Councilor Nadya Emano-Elipe.
Emano said it was a very hard decision since the family is still grieving for the untimely demise of their father, former City Mayor Vicente Yap Emano. But the family has decided to field Nadya Emano against the incumbent city vice mayor because it's needed.
Governor Emano shed in tears as he announced the name of his sister as a replacement by virtue of the comelec rulings on substitution.
Nadya Emano, for her part, also cried when she was given the time to speak and accept the challenge to replace his father. She said the plan is only to help his father in campaign sorties she attended, as well as his husband, Prexy Elipe, who is also running for vice governor of Misamis Oriental.
Meanwhile, Rufus Rodriguez welcomed this new development and said that Nadya Emano was a lawyer, aside from the fact that she has also served as City Councilor of the city for three consecutive terms.
Rodriguez said the late Dongkoy's daughter has all the credentials and qualifications to run for vice mayor against the incumbent leadership. "We will support Nadya Emano all the way as she is now part of the team whose vision is to uplift the city for greater heights."
