CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: A non-commissioned police officer was arrested in an illegal drug buy bust in Iligan City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said Monday.
The suspect was identified as Patrolman Saidamin Bonsalagon Bagul, a.k.a. “Borge,” of Erlinda Ville, Purok 9Brgy. Del Carmen, Iligan City.
The police officer did not resist arrest when accosted by the combined elements of the military, police and PDEA agents, PDEA Regional Director Emerson R. Rosales said.
He said that the operatives recovered from the suspect the illegal drugs Shabu (Methamphetamine Hydrochloride) valued at P 136,000.00.
Rosales commended the efforts of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to weed its ranks and file as part of its pursuit of a drug free region.
Bonsalagon is now detained at the PDEA regional detention center pending the filing of the charges with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. -0-
