IED courier of BIFF, killed in operation in Maguindanao del Sur

CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao del Norte – The joint forces of the Army and the PNP killed what was supposed to be a peaceful serving of an arrest warrant on a suspected BIFF member this afternoon on Thursday (April 27, 2023) in Barangay Madia, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Michael Glenn Manansala, Battalion Commander of the 6th Infantry (Redskin) Battalion, the suspect has the aliases of Malang and Bungo. He is an IED courier and was involved in the encounter against the PNP-Special Action Force in 2015.

“Our army and police also need to defend themselves because the suspect also has a gun. Government forces recovered his gun, a Cal. 45 pistol”, said Lt. Col. Filter

The suspect’s relatives immediately took his body to be buried in accordance with Islamic beliefs.

Brigadier General Oriel Pangcog, 601st Infantry (Unifier) ​​Brigade praised the Joint Elements of the 6IB and Maguindanao del Sur PNP for the success of the operation against law breakers.

“This is also a big blow to the terrorist group, and a victory for the authorities in maintaining peace and order in the area. Justice was also achieved for the relatives of SAF 44 due to the death of one of the suspects”, according to Brig. Gen. Pangcog.

Major General Alex Rillera, Commander of the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division and Joint Task Force Central once again reminded people who commit crimes and violence that they will not be free from the law forever because the police, military and various agencies will work together of the government to catch them.

“I hope you will realize that it is possible to change. Surrender peacefully before the time comes when it is too late,” added the 6ID and JTFC Commande
