CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – A lone gunman who shot dead a laborer the other day in Baloy, Tablon, this city, has surrendered to police authorities.
COCPO chief Aaron Mandia, based on the report submitted to him, identified the lone gunman in Tablon shooting as Edwin Molejon, 47, a resident of Purok 2, barangay Tablon, this city.
While the victim was also identified by police probers as Mark Anthony Fernandez y Abadilla, 26 yrs old, single, resident of Purok-6, Tablon, this city. Abadilla was a labourer at AJ Woods Corporation along Baloy, Tablon, also in this city.
Initial investigation disclosed that prior to the shooting incident, the victim has already received death threats from the suspect. It was learned that the suspect’s live-in partner, a certain Geralyn Saquez, allegedly has an affair with the victim, which provoked the killing.
“Dugay nako naghangyo nya sir nga undangan nya akong asawa. Nagsumbong akong asawa nako nga sige daw siya gasunod sunod unya gapamugos nga mag uyab daw sila,” the suspect told a local radio station here.
Based on the workers at AJ Wood, the victim in Tablon shooting and the girlfriend of the suspect were workmates at AJ Wood which also started their alleged intimate relationship.
The police are now preparing charges of a crime of passion or love triangle as the main motive of the suspect in killing Abadilla.
The police are also tightening their investigation to have a strong case against the suspect who is now languishing at the Maharlika detention cell.
