Team Unity gubernatorial bet Juliette T. Uy turned bombastic by challenging her opponents to a fist fight as she downplayed what she described as ‘bullying’ employed by her rivals being the only female candidate in the line up for governor of Misamis Oriental. She issued the statement during the party’s proclamation rally and Miting de Avance held Tuesday, May 3, in the town of Tagoloan, a known bailiwick and hometown of their main protagonists, the Emanos.
Her husband, fomer vice governor Atty. Julio T. Uy faces outgoing governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano for the congressional seat in the second district.
The three-termer congresswoman of the second district now aims to make history as the first woman to take helm of the Provincial Capitol. Uy said she’ll not allow anyone to be bullied just because they were women. “I’ll fight them anytime, anywhere for I have nothing to be ashamed of in my tract records in public office.” – Photos by Gerry Lee Gorit
