Gov’t brings services, programs closer to Camp Bilal

MUNAI, Lanao del Norte (PIA) – In line with the 27th Police Community Relations Month Celebration, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 10 together with the provincial government, the municipal government of Munai, and other government line agencies provided services and programs through the Community Outreach Program at Camp Bilal, Sitio Kura-kura, Brgy. Tamparan, Munai town. 

The Department of Health conducted medical check-up and vaccination for COVID-19, Philippine Statistics Authority held registration for birth certificates, marriage certificates, and national ID.

Moreover, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources dispersed 30,000 tilapia fingerlings, the Department of Agriculture distributed chicks and vegetable seeds, the Amai Pakpak Medical Center conducted free circumcision and tooth extraction and the Philippine National Police distributed slippers, rice, and food packs.

The program is part of the harmonization efforts of stakeholders in this province through community development plans, transforming Camp Bilal and its three base commands into progressive communities.

PCol Henry Dampal of PRO 10’s Community Affairs and Development Division believes that the outreach program will strengthen the partnership of the police and other stakeholders with the MILF communities. He emphasized that if there is peace, there will be development and prosperity. 

Meanwhile, Bangsamoro Member of Parliament Abdullah Macapaar, popularly known as MILF’s Commander Bravo, expressed gratitude to the government agencies for bringing their services closer to the people in Camp Bilal. He assured that they will sustain peace and order in the communities.

“Maraming salamat dahil nandito sila sa main camp para sa community outreach program Maraming salamat sa PNP sa tulong ng new administration, President BongBong Marcos,” he said.

The activity was also made possible with the efforts of civil society organizations namely Pakigdait Inc., and United Religions Initiative – Southeast Asia and the Pacific.

According to PCol. Salman Saad of the Provincial Police Office’s Community Affairs Development Unit, community outreach programs will also be held in other base commands of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front located in Tagoloan, Tangcal, and Munai towns. (LELA/PIA-10/Lanao del Norte)
