LANAO DEL NORTE – Effective vaccination program in this province has started to roll out as Governor Imelda Quibranza-Dimaporo challenged all local government units (LGUs) to take part on the program to efficiently drive away the deadly coronavirus disease.
Dimaporo urged local government units in the province to support and pull together all their efforts and resources to ensure effective implementation of the vaccination program against coronavirus disease 2019 (covid-19).
“This program really needs the local chief executives to exert all their efforts up to the down level, to the barangay… Ang ako lang hangyo nga mutabang gyud ang atong mga barangay,” said Dimaporo.
The veteran governor of the province called on the local government officials to fast-track the vaccination program by using all available means of transportation in their areas of coverages.
She clarified that there are constituents in other far-flung barangays who cannot afford to travel and go to the vaccination sites due to the distance from their respective residences.
Meanwhile Provincial DILG Director Bruce Augusto Colao also propelled the involved officials to execute their mandate first instead of enforcing their personal views on the inoculation program of the national leadership.
“If you have some personal reluctance on the vaccine, you have an official duty to fulfill because the national government, our president, is calling you to act on and be at the forefront sa [of the] advocacy sa [for the] vaccination,” he said.
President Rodrigo Duterte has earlier warned those who refused to take the vaccines that they be penalized.
The president issued this stern warning amid reluctance of some people to take the vaccines, adding that false information poisoned the minds of these people why they are escaping away from the vax program since the goal is to safeguard themselves from the dangerous attacks of covid variants.
