Gov “Angging’ Dimaporo to mayors: “Set aside politics”

LANAO DEL NORTE – A top-woman leader of Mindanao has challenged all chief executives to set aside politics, and instead give their focus and utmost concern how they can effectively minimize covid-19 contractions.

Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo said instead of politicking, the mayors of the province should set an example in order to ease the rise of covid positive cases in Lanao del Sur.

“Let start first by taking care of our people, set aside politics muna. Unahon nato ang maayong pagkahimutang [sa atong mga constituents]. We cannot give all of them a good life, we cannot feed them all but at least unta atong maatiman ang atong mga kaigsoonan,” she said, adding that working together for a common goal results to a lot of lives being saved, rather than a divided leaders of the province.  

Dimaporo challenged the local chief executives (LCEs) to take part religiously on how they will be able to help their respective constituents especially in the vaccination program and supporting those affected by the pandemic.

“Kami diri sa provincial government, wala man maundang ang mga programa nato nga ayuda sa agriculture, kanunay gihapon naa sa field ang atong mga offices, labaw na sa paghatag og livelihood sa atong mga kaigsoonan nianing pandemya nga dili kita kabalo kung kanus-a ba kini mahuman,” she added.

She also challenged barangay chairmen throughout the province to educate and explain to their constituents the importance of getting inoculated against Covid-19 emphasizing that although the vaccine is not the cure, it prevents people from becoming so severely ill. – PNA
