Gardenia Bakeries, in a press statement said the company has invested close to One Billion Pesos for this expansion project in Mindanao, purposely aimed at supplying the demand for more Gardenia products in Southern Philippines.
Jun Umali, Gardenia Bakeries president said its investment of nearly One Billion will be a state-of-the-art fully automated bread manufacturing plant located at Phividec Industrial Estate in Tagoloan town, Misamis Oriental.
“Gardenia’s Mindanao plant is a completely new breadline that will feature robotics and the latest available technologies in modern baking sourced from the best bakery equipment suppliers from all over the world like in Germany, the Netherlands, United States, United Kingdom, Malaysia and Japan,” Umali said.
The Phividec manufacturing plant, Umali said was a result of its long years of operations in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, China and Australia. "It will be a fusion of bakery equipment from different parts of the world," the company president explained.
“Gardenia’s operations in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, China and Indonesia helped it develop the expertise of combining the best baking equipment from different sources worldwide and make them work as one integrated unit which enable us to develop a proprietary manufacturing process unique to Gardenia.”
Global source of ingredients
Umali said the company's sources of ingredients to produce very delicious and quality tastes of its breads and other products, were truly a result of its genius study and collaborations with other leading bread makers in Asia and other parts of the world.
“We use flour made from US wheat, milled to Gardenia’s high quality specifications, milk from Australia or USA, and other imported premium ingredients,” Umali said.
The location in the ports of Cagayan de Oro will be an advantage, The president said, adding that this will ensure regular availability of ingredients supplies through the ports in the city.
The new manufacturing plant at Phividec Industrial Estate will be able to produce a total of 130,000 loaves and buns everyday which will be distributed with the company's expanded fleet of trucks all over Southern Philippines.
