Former Combatants starts Special Skills Training Program from TESDA

CLAVERIA, Misamis Oriental – 20 Former Combatants takes development skills training in tile setting and cake making here on October 24, 2019.

The Tile Setting training and Cake Making was conducted in coordination with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) together with St Gregory Technical School and Mana Millenium School.

The participants were Former Rebels who were E-CLIP beneficiaries and are temporarily housed in the Former Rebel Processing Center at Headquarters 58 Infantry Battalion. Apart from the tool kits, the participants were also given allowance for the duration of the training and their National Certificate II for their skill. Further, with the skill they acquired through this livelihood training will open a new window for several job opportunities that will help them uplift their economic living within a poverty stricken community.

‘’Gisagubang namu ang kalisod panahon sa galihok pami sa bukid, kakapuy ug kagutom among giantos ug karun nahayagan na among panghunahuna ug nakita na namo ang kaayuhan sa pagbalik namu sa sabakan sa gobyerno pinaagi sa tabang sa 58IB, daku kayo akong pagpasalamat nga naka apil kami daani nga training para makadugang sa among kahibalo ug mkatuon pa.” said @Cording, former NPA and a skills training participant.

Lt. Col. Roy Anthony Derilo, Commanding Officer of 58IB, said, I am happy that the Former Rebels seeks to development on their lives by taking this livelihood training. They want to show that our government are really wanted to help the community and bring them peace and development which they have long seek to enjoy’’.
