Filipinos, Not Only Freedom-Loving But Loving & Caring

Kim’s Dream Orlan Ravanera

Bright Horizons Caregiving, Very Amazing

We Filipinos are freedom-loving people as history tells us how the Filipinos resisted against the subjugation of Filipinos by colonizers which were done then through injustices and corruption. Having been liberated from foreign colonial rule and from any form of subjugation, the Filipinos are living in continuance with their cultural heritage of loving and caring as exemplified by their ancestors whose life exemplified loving and caring for one another. They were tilling their land then in the spirit of sharing and service to one another, even showcasing oneness with one another and with nature, even developing the 8th wonder of the world, the Rice Terraces.

Such spirit of service thru love and care is being exemplified by nurses working in New York, for example, as narrated by my son Kim, the Chief of a hospital, whose nurses are all Filipinos. He was telling me how amazing the Filipino nurses in serving and caring for their patients as caring for the sick is not only done through medicine but through loving care.

But I was more amazed in recently meeting no less than the founder/CEO of the Bright Horizons Caregiver Training Hub and Technical School, Inc. Ms Gregoria C. Salon, RN who is a registered Midwife and a registered Nurse/ NC2 Caregiving. She could have worked in a well-known hospital in New York with astonishing salary but she declined. She told me that as King Solomon had pronounced in Ecclesiastes, “wealth, fame, power are just all meaningless, utterly meaningless.” What is important is what have you done during your lifetime in serving the least of your brethren as reinforced by the biblical line, :”What would profit a man if he gains the whole world but suffers the loss of his soul.”

Well, such is indeed very amazing in a world that has been buried in so much materialism and consumerism, where there is so much veneration to the profit-motive that has already captured the mindset of all governments, all institutions, all universities and even of religious group. Here is an amazing person whose purpose in life is “to capacitate the Filipinos, to encourage personal growth, to develop competence, motivate confidence, increase job satisfaction and reduce stress in building dreams into reality.”

As envisioned by the founder of the caregiving herself, “I believe that perpetuating the cycle of aspiration, trust and empathy, our value will lead to meeting the needs of the people regardless of their educational qualification.

Importantly, they showed respect and believed that positive attitudes led to their desire to improve living quality.” Indeed, Ms. Salon is correct in underscoring the importance of developing one’s potentials. This is clearly stated in a poem of Thomas Gray entitled, “An Elegy Written in a County Churchyard.”

The poem’s 12 th stanza says: “Perhaps in this neglected spot is laid, Some heart once pregnant with celestial fire; Hands, that the rod of empire might have sway’d, Or waked to ecstasy the living lyre.” Indeed, the number one asset in the universe is not wealth, fame or power. The most important asset/capital is the human being and the development of the human potentials is of utmost importance. The poet, Thomas Gray, in writing the poem in a country churchyard (cemetery), has underscored this truism that when a dead person is laid to rest, had the heart felt that “celestial fire” of love? Had he developed kingly qualities that could have served a community? Had he used his creativity to influence/entertain like a light illuminating darkness? Our firm salute to Ms. Salon for the development of the human potentials of her trainees on caregiving to improve the quality of life of the people.

The Bright Horizons Caregiver Training Hub and Technical School, Inc. has a working team that encourages personal growth, develops competence, motivates confidence and increases job satisfaction, and reduces stress in building dreams into reality.

What is even more amazing is that Bright Horizons Caregiving has created linkages with the following institutions:

RGER SERVICES IS AN INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION CONSULTANCY THAT PROCESS STUDENT VISAS FOR AUSTRALIA.

CHARIOT LABOR ASIA MANPOWER SERVICES PROVIDES GLOBALLY QUALIFIED MANPOWER SERVICE TO EMPLOYERS WORLDWIDE. BOTH PRINCIPALS AND JOB APPLICANTS ARE ASSURED OF SERVICES BASED ON THE WEALTH OF EXPERIENCE OF AGM FOUNDER, MR. RENATO MORAGA, AND HIS KEY OFFICERS.

Easy Global Education and Consultancy Services Inc. is one of the promising Education Consultancy in the country which offers a broad portfolio of excellently managed services right from pre-admission to post-landing services tailored to the needs of each and every student who wanted to elevate their career and enhance their knowledge and skills by pursuing overseas education in Australia and work at the same time.

It is so astonishing that Madam Gregoria Salon known as Maam Neng has catapulted the Bright Horizons Caregiving Services globally through linkages with well-known institutions. In this age of globalization, Maam Neng is indeed building a knowledge society that empowering those in the margins into the mainstream of development processes. In fact, some of the caregiving graduates of the 4-month care-giving technical course are now working in Canada, United States, Japan and Australia.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

SLIPPERS OFFERING

This is a symbol of how we care for the children. Our team distributed new pairs of slippers to the children of less fortunate selected areas here in Mindanao, which they received wholeheartedly. We aim to foster child social, intellectual, creative, and physical development.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

FEEDING PROGRAM

Feeding programs are beneficial for the physical, mental, and psychosocial development of school-age children and adolescents, particularly those in low and middle-income areas. Wholeheartedly, our team conducted a supplemental feeding program to improve the nutritional health especially the children of select areas.

Indeed, Maam Neng Caregiving Services is more for service not for profit. The tuition fees of the trainees is just one half of the tuition compared to other caregiving technical hubs but her outpourings of knowledge on caregiving, as I’ve been observing, is so excellent as can be attested by the trainees themselves. To you Maam Neng, our firm salute! Indeed, there is no greater grandeur sight on earth than a service-oriented nurse whose amazing life of service is to make life better to those in dire need of caregiving not only through medical assistance but through loving services which is inherent in the culture of the Filipinos.
