CAGAYAN DE ORO (MDN national news, June 4) – A survey of the most credible Social Wheather Stations (SWS) has shown that more adult Filipinos are happier with their lives in the first quarter of this year as compared to the previous period.
According to SWS survey conducted on March 28 to 31, it showed that 44 percent of Filipinos living in the country are generally very happy with their present lives, based on their actual assessment.
It basically increased up to five points from the previous 39 percent in the last quarter of 2018 based on a survey conducted in December. The reported score had declined for 2 succeeding quarters after it hit a record high of 57 percent in December 2017.
Based on the survey, 49 percent of people who have participated said they were "fairly happy", while another seven percent of the respondents claimed they were "not very happy." Only a percent also answered "not at all happy."
Visayas and Mindanao regions registered the biggest score on happiness except for Luzon. The highest score recorded were among the college graduates at 56 percent high.
Counting the religious sectors, the survey said, the Muslim community recorded the happiest at 66 percent, obviously followed by Christians and Catholics at 50 and 42 percent.
It was also revealed in the survey result that Filipino adults were "very satisfied" with the lives they currently lead, which is a three-point rise from the previous 34 percent in December 2018.
Meanwhile, 53 percent of the survey participants said they were "fairly satisfied" with their present lives.
The nationwide survey was made based on a face-to-face interviews of 1,440 adults.
