Female NPA combatant gets treatment in army hospital

CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City: A wounded female combatant of the New People’s Army (NPA) underwent medical treatment in the military’s hospital here after she was captured and rescued by state forces in Bukidnon, the military said Monday.

 
The military identified the female NPA combatant as Lody Han-ayan Ampildon alias “Diane”, 18, of Purok 5, Sitio Mahayag, Brgy St. Peter, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
 
Diane was the medic of the Regional Sentro De Gravidad (RSDG) COMPAQ of the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC), that figured in a clashed with government forces in the hinterlands of Impasug- ong, Bukidnon on Thursday.
 
Maj. Francisco Garello, Jr., of the army’s Division Public Affairs , said that left for dead, Diane was airlifted Friday for treatment at the army station hospital in Camp Evangelista here.
 
Maj. Ronald C Ancheta, Officer-in-Charge of the army station hospital here, said that the military provided medical care to Diane, bringing to nine major surgical operations and treatment extended to wounded communist rebels since January 2021.
 
To recall, a wounded female NPA leader identified as Mary Joy Arevalo Antiha alias Nikki/Kib, the Political Instructor of Platoon Dos of Guerilla Front Malayag of  NCMRC, who was captured along with nine others in an encounter on Sept. 8, 2021 in San Fernando, Bukidnon was also given proper medical attention.
 
Antiha, 24, resident of Valencia City, Bukidnon has been under the medical care of the army doctors and nurses while recuperating from surgery and still on isolation after she was confirmed positive with COVID 19 Delta Variant CT 19 (mild case).
 
Maj. Gen. Romeo S Brawner Jr,, Commander of 4ID, said that the treatment and medical attention accorded to the wounded and captured communist rebels were in adherence with the  International Human Rights Law. -30-
