CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao del Norte – Law enforcers foiled the attempted detonation of four IEDs in the early morning of Thursday (May 25, 2023) at the Husky Terminal, Rosary Heights 10, Cotabato City.
Based on the authority’s report, four explosives inside the box and two cellphones were recovered. In addition to this, the staff and security guards got attention after hearing a shot of a suspected pistol. They immediately sought help from the Esteros Detachment of the 1404th RMFC, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 14.
According to Major General Alex Rillera, Commander of the Joint Task Force Central and 6th Infantry Division, no one was injured and the motive for the said incident is still being investigated.
“Your AFP and PNP immediately responded to cordon off the area as a pre-emptive security measure and the CCPO-EOD K9 of the PNP disrupted the IEDs. 6MIB and MBLT5 jointly investigated in coordination with the local PNP at the scene to find other possible IED’s hidden in the nearby area”, said Maj. Gen. Rillera.
The JTFC and 6ID Commander also appealed for the cooperation of the public to prevent such an incident from happening again.
“The effect of IED is very dangerous to human life, so don’t hesitate to immediately report to our military and police anything suspicious or suspicious person for the safety of everyone”, it added.
