Ex-CDO city councilor succumbs to Covid

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Former Cagayan De Oro City Councilor and incumbent village chairman of Macasandig, an urban village here, succumbed to COVID-19  Thursday morning.

Village Chair Aaron Neri, 59, expired about 8:00 ayem at the government—owned Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) Thursday morning.
Colleagues in Macasandig said that Neri  was found COVID-19 positive Mknday and was admitted to the NMMC hospital.
Village Councilor Rey Balandra has comorbidity being diabetic and hypertensive, which could have aggravated Neri’s illness.
He said that the village contact tracers have identified seven direct contacts who were advised to go on self-quarantine.
Balandra said that the  village hall of Macasandig is closed effective Thursday until Friday for disinfection.
Neri was the second village chief who served as City Councilor  to succumb to COVID-19, the first was village chief Maricar Caliso of Patag, another urban village. -0-
