Emano vs Uy in Misor’s 2nd district

MISAMIS ORIENTAL – A top political ally of Padayon Pilipino, a regional political party founded by the late Mayor Dongkoy Emano, has revealed yesterday that Governor Yevgeny Vincente “Bambi” Emano is likely to run as a congressman in the second district.

Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Dexter Yasay told reporters yesterday that the incumbent Governor has finally decided to run as a congressman in the second district for the best interest of the party.

MDNN tried to connect with the governor yesterday but to no avail, as Governor Bambi is having a very important meeting, it was learned.

Based on the term limit, Governor Bambi is already on his third term, and he is no longer allowed to run as Governor of the province.

Meanwhile, Yasay has also confirmed that Padayon Pilipino party, has almost completed its political lineup in the 2022 local elections.

He reiterated that Gingoog City Vice Mayor Peter Unabia will be the gubernatorial candidate of Padayon Pilipino, with his running mate Vice Governor Jeremy Jonahmar Pelaez, who will seek re-election.

First district Congressman Christian Unabia will also seek re-election, while for SP members are incumbent Frederick Khu, Wayne Militante, and outgoing Gingoog City Councilor Marlon Kho. The fourth and fifth slots will still be determined, Yasay claimed.

The SP members in the district are incumbent Syremae Emano, Gerardo ‘Boboy’ Sabal III, Yasay, outgoing Villanueva town Councilor Leoncio Abejo and one still to be determined by the party.

Yasay also claimed that should Peter Unabia win as the new governor of the province he would continue to implement the priorities of the incumbent administration, especially in agriculture.

“Tourism and agriculture can work hand in hand (referring to Bambi Emano’s tourism-based implemented projects). If our number of visitors increases, we will have more investors in agriculture. Our farmers will be protected under hopefully-to-be Governor Unabia,” he said.
