DTI to Hold 4th Slingshot Conference Spotlighting Future Tech Giants

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will once again hold the Slingshot Conference with the theme “Empowering Future Tech Giants” on November 17, 2022 as one of the major events during the Philippine Startup Week 2022 (PHSW22).

Showcasing the success stories of local startups who have made significant strides, this year’s Slingshot conference will be kicked off by Competitiveness and Innovation Group Undersecretary Rafaelita M. Aldaba who has been pushing for digitalization and innovation, and the need to build a robust startup ecosystem. Consistent with DTI’s Science, Technology and Innovation (STI)-driven industrialization strategy, the event aims to inspire more startups to envision being the next “tech giants,” and that homegrown successes are possible.

Success stories from Startup founders Ragde Falcis of ChatGenie, Bo Discarga of Betterteem, Lolita Cabanlet of Oro Handmade Innovations, Dr. Rainier Natividad of ArmasTec, and Paolo Kalaw of Nimbyx Capital are to look out for. Furthermore, the event will feature ecosystem presentations from Matija Squire of Fingerprint for Success and Stephen Kuester of Startup Genome. Notable panelists will also be highlighted in the event during the virtual roundtable discussion and spotlight podcast segments.

Serving as its eighth year, the Slingshot conference has made significant accomplishments in boosting the startup ecosystem and celebrating its continuous successes.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Startup Week which will run from 14 to 18 November 2022 is the largest Startup Conference in the country that brings together the local and international startup community to promote digital transformation, collaboration, and innovation, and lay down the available support to further grow the Philippine startup ecosystem.

Registration of the event is still ongoing. Free tickets can be accessed via www.phstartupweek.com.
