DTI-10 RAPID turns over improved farm-to-market road to Lantapan

Rural Agro-enterprise Partnership for Inclusive Development (RAPID) Growth Project of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10 officially turned over an improved farm-to-market road to the local government unit (LGU) of Lantapan on December 6, 2023 at Cinchona Forest Reserve, Kaatuan, Lantapan, Bukidnon.

RAPID Growth Project is a value-chain based and market-driven business development initiative that aims to propel agriculture-based processing enterprises and entrepreneurial communities to become innovative, productive, and competitive so that they will be capacitated in meeting the challenges of the global market.

One of the components of the project is the FMI that focuses on securing the farmers’ and SMEs’ access to markets by rehabilitating farm-to-market access roads.

The improvement of the Kaatuan FMR covers a total of 3.372 kilometers of road and with total project cost of P56 million.

It will benefit 2,066 household and 1,422 farmers, particularly coffee farmers under the Paglambu Landcare Kaatuan Cluster.

The FMR was made possible through the tripartite agreement between DTI-10 RAPID, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) 10, and Lantapan LGU.

The turnover ceremony was attended by Lantapan Mayor Ernie Devibar, Barangay Captain Robert Paje, Lantapan Municipal Engineer Jessell Pacturan, DILG Bukidnon Provincial Director Rhona Pedraza-Abadilla, DILG-10 Rural Infrastructure Engineer Jay Vanny Orabao, RAPID Project Manager Mae Ester Guiamadel, DTI-11 Regional Director and DTI-RAPID Project Director Belinda Ambi, DTI-11 Assistant Regional Director and Deputy Project Director Romeo Castañaga, DTI-10 Regional Director Ermedio Abang, and DTI Bukidnon Provincial Director Famelah Racquel Villanueva.
