DSWD XI provides livelihood assistance to over 14K beneficiaries

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI, through its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), conducted its simultaneous payout of Livelihood Assistance Grant (LAG) to 14,689 qualified beneficiaries from various cities/ municipalities in Davao Region, last September 5-12, 2022. Each beneficiary received P10,000 to P15,000 worth of capital for their livelihood.

Moreover, a total of P156.8 million worth of funds was disbursed.

In Davao City, a total of 4,890 Davaoeños received the said grant, while there were 2,427 in Davao de Oro, 2100 beneficiaries in Davao del Norte, 1,479 in Davao del Sur, 734 in Davao Occidental, and lastly, there were 3,136 beneficiaries in Davao Oriental. 

Conduct of LAG Payout to 600 beneficiaries last September 12, 2022, in the Municipality of
Sarangani, Davao Occidental.

LAG is a form of financial assistance granted to low-income families whose livelihoods were affected by the imposition of community quarantine due to COVID- 19.

SLP aims to improve the economic well-being of the vulnerable, marginalized, and disadvantaged individuals and families in communities by mobilizing and empowering the same through the support of the local government units and other government agencies.
