CEBU CITY (MDN Visayas News, digital, July 13) – A total of P4-Million worth of illegal drugs known as shabu were seized by government agents in separate raids conducted in Cebu province, police authorities reported.
The shabu business in Cebu Province is still very active despite the arrest of big time druglords as well as the deaths of Jaguar Diaz and his protegee Mark Sabalones, and other well-known big time drug traffickers in the Visayas region
In Cebu City, a 21-year-old drug suspect was arrested in buy-bust operation in Barangay Cogon in the early morning of July 13.
Caught by police operatives of Police Drug Enforcement Group Visayas (PDEG Visayas) was one Zheromie Galvez, a resident of Barangay Quiot Pardo, Cebu City. 150 grams of suspected shabu was taken from his possession during the raid valued at P1-Million Pesos.
Police Colonel Glenn Mayam of PDEG Visayas also reported to the media that aside from Galvez's arrest, six suspects were also arrested in separate drug operations conducted by police units in Talisay and Cebu cities.
Three separate buy-bust operations in Metro Cebu also lead to the seizure of P3-Million worth of shabu. Drug enforcement units in two police stations made the arrest and forfeiture of illegal drugs after several weeks of massive surveillance and intelligence efforts.
On Friday, July 12, a total of P2-Million worth of shabu was confiscated by police operatives, according to Police Major Regino Maramag, Pardo chief of police.
The raid, Maramag said, resulted also to the arrest of Ann Tisoy in sitio Pobre, Barangay Bulacao, while in the possession of 300 grams of Shabu, which according police sources from the Dangerous Drugs Board has a street value of P2 Million.
Police investigation disclosed that Ann Tisoy, 20 year-old, was renting a place in Sitio Pobre as she was positively identified by drug pushers in the area as the supplier of illegal drugs. She replaced her husband who was arrested last year for drug-related cases, report said.
Meanwhile, a pedicab driver and his companion were also arrested while in the possession of 30 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P204,000, in barangay Labangon also on July 13.
Arrested by police operatives were a certain Dellica, a 37-year-old pedicab driver and resident of A. LOpez Street in barangay Labangon and his companion, a certain Canoy, 30, and a resident of Sitio katangkungan in Brgy Basak Pardo.
Also arrested by Labangon Police were Wilfredo Allarse, Jonathan Macaraya and Niño Anora. Taken from them was a 110 grams of Illegal drugs with a street value of P700,000 according to Police Major Henrix Bancoleta, chief of Labangon Police.
